Card making with the Pyjama Foundation
On Thursday 8th September, my colleagues and I from the Maud Street and King Street offices spent a few hours creating cards for children in foster care - thanks to professional card maker and volunteer, Janette.
Janette helped us with the designs and provided the materials to ensure we were all successful in making cards for children of all ages. Unitywater volunteers included groups of people working in development Services, Legal, Finance, HR and Community Engagement - we all had differing creative abilities when it came to producing the cards and Janette kept us on the straight and narrow!
We learnt that these cards will be given to the children in foster care when it is their birthday, children are matched with a 'Pyjama Angel' who spend time with them once a week. Our card making will help the 'Pyjama Angels' to give their matched child a birthday card.
It was a fantastic uVolunteer day and it was great to get creative, meet new people in other offices, as well as meet Janette who has been doing such amazing work with the foundation.
