What engagement have we done for the price review?

    We've engaged customers, business and industry representatives, and other stakeholders to understand the best way to develop and transition to the new pricing structures.

    Key areas of consultation included:

    • the design of the treatment tier approach
    • understanding the challenges businesses are facing
    • exploring the best way to transition to change
    • gaining feedback and insights on the language used in the assessment criteria and the calculator.

    Consultation and engagement activities included: 

    • Engaging with industry representatives and business associations to discuss upcoming pricing changes and invite feedback (April 2022).  
    • Approaching all trade waste customers by email, inviting nominations to be part of a Customer Reference Group (July and August 2022).  
    • Forming the 12-person Customer Reference Group, online meetings (September and October 2022). 
    • Unitywater advised customers about the new approach to pricing in November 2022 
    • Unitywater announced individual prices and Treatment Tiers to our customers in March 2023.
    • First quarterly bills reflecting the new prices will be issued in October 2023.
