Improving Development Services at Unitywater
Our region is one of the fastest growing in Australia. To keep up with the pace of development, Unitywater is working with the industry to improve how we approve applications to connect developer built water and wastewater assets to our network.
The Accreditation and Certification (A&C) framework is used to process and approve all applications to non-trunk water and sewerage connections.
This allows developers to engage a registered certifier through an Accredited Entity to certify their applications for water and sewerage network connections on Unitywater’s behalf.
Unitywater has begun a three-stage program to improve Development Services, and A&C.
We are:
- Adding additional Development Services staff, improving our processes and increasing our communications
- Working to improve the quality of applications received from Accredited Entities, with a tier scheme based on Accredited Entity performance to be published in April 2024
- Working to implement a Development Services Portal which will allow for streamlined submissions, online payments and tracking an application real time, which is planned to be launched in mid 2024
