Battery Hill: ORG Cap Program

To help reduce the risk and impact of wet-weather overflows, Unitywater are installing caps on overflow relief gullies (ORGs) in selected properties in the suburb of Battery Hill, Sunshine Coast.

ORG caps can help reduce the amount of rainwater entering the wastewater network during wet-weather events, and therefore help reduce the risk of overflows on public and private property during these events. In the event of a surcharge, ORG caps eject to release excess pressure and direct sewage away from the home, just like with a conventional ORG.

The caps will be installed by licensed plumbers working on behalf of Unitywater, free of charge. Once installed, the ORG cap will become part of the properties' private plumbing.
