Point Cartwright Reservoir

Unitywater has completed 17 artworks across Moreton Bay, the Sunshine Coast and Noosa regions as part of our community artwork program. This program enhances the look Unitywater sites with beautiful designs, which also help towards preventing graffiti.

As with all art, it needs to be taken care of, which is why Unitywater is focusing on maintaining and renewing our existing artworks for generations to come. Point Cartwright water reservoir is one of our iconic artworks and after weathering the elements, it’s in need of a good makeover.

Thank you for your vote

In 2021, we asked the community to share their ideas and vote on what they wanted to see on this iconic 17-metre-high reservoir. The outcome was to repaint the existing design.

This design was chosen by the community in 2016, and since then has been adored and embraced. Through consultation with traditional landowners, we have made some slight tweaks to the artwork. We’ve changed the Norfolk pines to Bunya pines to be respectful of the cultural heritage of this area. We also incorporated a native bird in the design, thanks to insights provided by a knowledgeable local.
