Bridging/Protecting Sewer due to low covers
Is there an avenue to submit a request for an SOAS reviewed by UnityWater prior to an application being made for Connection Approval? I have a client obtaining a DA in Caboolture currently and we have identified that the existing AC sewer main located within the frontage of private property will have the cover over the main compromised but excavation to:
1. Obtain the standard verge profile (which will be a condition of approval)
2. Ensure access grades are in accordance with the relevant Australian Standards.
From preliminary investigation, there would appear to be approximately 450mm of cover along the entire frontage due to the works, so we would be looking at either concreting to encase the pipe or providing piers on each side of the sewer main that are connected to the driveway crossover.
How do we go about this earlier in the process to provide some certainty to the project as the only other alternative is to duplicate the sewer for around 75m (on the same side of the road) by installing a new sewer on the current standard alignment and introducing another 2 maintenance structures in doing so.
