Noosaville Artwork

A splash of art is coming to Noosaville

Local artist Louise Bastos is set to transform the pump station on Lake Weyba Drive (opposite 61 Lake Weyba Drive) into a vibrant piece of public art this November and December. What was once a plain concrete building will soon become a colourful mural celebrating the beauty of nature.

Louise has designed two unique concepts for the community to choose from:

  • A design inspired by the region’s lush greenery, with calming shades of green and a touch of yellow.

  • A serene ocean‑themed piece, reflecting the gentle rhythms of the coast.

Both designs highlight Louise’s connection to place, colour and community.

Have your say! Cast your vote for the design you’d love to see painted and help shape this exciting community artwork.

More about Louise

Louise Bastos is an artist, muralist and creative workshop facilitator whose work celebrates the beauty of nature and human connection. Originally trained as a biologist in Brazil, Louise worked on reforestation projects in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland before realising that painting trees was far less labor‑intensive than planting them. She traded her shovel for a paintbrush - and never looked back.

Born and raised in Brazil, Louise has called the Sunshine Coast home for over a decade. Working primarily with acrylics, she uses expressive, loose brushstrokes to bring her vision to life. Her art reflects imagination, inspiration and a deep connection with people, culture and the natural world.

With her scientific background and passion for plants, Louise gravitates toward botanical subjects. She believes in the transformative power of art, and through her vivid paintings and workshops, she invites others to awaken their own creativity and see the world with fresh eyes.
