Noosaville Artwork
A splash of art has been added to Noosaville
Local artist, Louise Bastos from @solshinearts, has transformed the pump station on Lake Weyba Drive (opposite 61 Lake Weyba Drive) into a vibrant piece of public art. What was once a plain concrete building has bloomed into a colourful mural celebrating the beauty of nature.
The community had their say, and with an incredible 88% of votes, the foliage design was chosen as the winner, over the whale design.
Inspired by the region’s lush greenery, with calming shades of green and touches of yellow wattle, this design reflects Louise’s deep connection to place, colour and community.
We loved seeing the community get involved - choosing their favourite design and cheering Louise on as she painted. She shared how many wonderful interactions she had along the way, with locals even dropping by with snacks! A big thank you to Noosaville, and especially the Lake Weyba Drive residents, for your support and enthusiasm.

More about Louise
Louise Bastos is an artist, muralist and creative workshop facilitator whose work celebrates the beauty of nature and human connection. Originally trained as a biologist in Brazil, Louise worked on reforestation projects in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland before realising that painting trees was far less labor‑intensive than planting them. She traded her shovel for a paintbrush - and never looked back.
Born and raised in Brazil, Louise has called the Sunshine Coast home for over a decade. Working primarily with acrylics, she uses expressive, loose brushstrokes to bring her vision to life. Her art reflects imagination, inspiration and a deep connection with people, culture and the natural world.
With her scientific background and passion for plants, Louise gravitates toward botanical subjects. She believes in the transformative power of art, and through her vivid paintings and workshops, she invites others to awaken their own creativity and see the world with fresh eyes.
