About the project
The Redcliffe Outfall Project will replace sections of the ageing wastewater pipeline locatedin an easement between the Redcliffe Wastewater Treatment Plant andthe outfall discharge point in Hays Inlet.
These upgrades will improve the reliability of the wastewater network, increase capacity to support future demand and help protect the environmental health of the surrounding area.
The project is anticipated to take approximately 12 months to complete subject to weather and site conditions.
Throughout the delivery of the project, Unitywater, with the support of Downer, will keep the local community informed of progress and any upcoming activities.
Unitywater is committed to minimising environmental impacts and reducing the need to clear vegetation where possible. Additionalenvironmental funding has been secured to deliver enhanced revegetationworks following construction, with a focus on improving koala habitat.
By upgrading the wastewater network, Unitywater will continue to meet the needs of the growing region, improve overall system reliability, and reduce the risk of wastewater overflows.
