Morayfield Wastewater Network Upgrade

Project background

Unitywater is committed to supporting communities in the Moreton Bay region by investing in sustainable wastewater services.

The Morayfield Wastewater Network Upgrade Project will not only improve overall network reliability, but also meet the needs of more than 26,000 residents who are expected to move to the Morayfield South Central Development Area in coming years.

About the project

The Morayfield Wastewater Network Upgrade Project includes the installation of more than three kilometres of new sewer pipes, as well as upgrades to two existing wastewater pump stations.

These works will improve the wastewater network’s overall reliability by reducing reactive and operational issues, increasing wastewater pipe capacity, and reducing the risk of wastewater overflows. These essential works will also help to manage wet weather overflows in the area and reduce environmental impacts.

Our construction partner for this project is Downer. Construction has not yet commenced. It is anticipated to start from late-2025. The project will be delivered in stages and is expected to be complete by late 2027, subject to weather and site conditions.
