On Tuesday 26 July 2022 Unitywater hosted its very first CommUnity Connect event.
The event saw a number of community organisations from across the region come together and connect. It featured different elements, including networking for some of the organisations that Unitywater has supported over the years, a grants writing tutorial and a World Café style engagement workshop to provide Unitywater with an opportunity to further enhance its CommUnity Program.
Why did we host the event?
As part of the development of the CommUnity Program we ran some engagement forums across each region to understand what was important to the community in terms of Unitywater's way of supporting the communities it serves, beyond providing water and sewerage services.
One of the things that the community said was important was connection with other organisations and Unitywater helping build capacity and capability of community across the region.
This event was our opportunity to trial it. This page showcases the feedback captured on the day and is an opportunity to get more feedback to help us understand if this is something we should be doing more of and if so, how can we make events like this even better and more beneficial for all parties.
But the most important part of the event was to say thank you to the wonderful organisations for the amazing work they do in keeping the communities (and environment) we live and work healthy. Thank you for what you do. We appreciate you.
