Progress at Waraba: Site Tour Highlights Key Milestone

This week, Unitywater’s Project Manager, Victor Cabrera, was joined by two representatives from Stockland, Senior Project Manager Paul McDonald (R) and Project Manager, Madison Bower (L), for a site tour of the new Waraba Sewage Pump Station (SPS) - an important milestone in the delivery of essential infrastructure for the new City of Waraba.

This site tour reflects a collaboration between Unitywater and six private development companies, including Stockland, under the Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Agreement (WWIA). Together, we are delivering the critical water and wastewater services needed to support one of Queensland’s fastest-growing regions, located in west Caboolture.

The pump station is part of the broader Waraba Wastewater Network Project supporting Neighbourhood Development Plan Area No. 1 (NDP1). NDP1, announced by the Queensland Government in March 2021, covers approximately 266 hectares and will be home to a new urban community complete with housing, schools, parks, and local amenities.

Unitywater, and its principal contractor, Killard Tallai Joint Venture (KTJV), is delivering this key infrastructure, which includes the new pumping station and 4.5 kilometres of underground pipeline designed to minimise environmental and residential impact.

This is just one example of how Unitywater is working to ensure a sustainable future for the communities we serve.
