Fauna spotting success

Recently, the Waraba Wastewater Network’s fauna spotting procedures were in full swing with the swift rescue and relocation of a very friendly lizard.
During scheduled pre-pipelaying works, the dedicated fauna spotter on site noticed the creature sitting near the work zone and, in line with our fauna safety guidelines, relocated it to a suitable nearby habitat.
Unitywater and Killard-Tallai Joint Venture (KTJV) are committed to minimising construction impacts for all residents in the region, including ones with scales, feathers and everything in between.
Local wildlife near our Waraba site is also protected by erosion and sediment controls like silt fences and exclusion zones.
The Waraba Wastewater Network will be comprised of over 4.5 kilometres of brand-new pipeline and a state-of-the-art wastewater pumping station to support the approximately 70,000 new residents expected to populate Waraba in the coming decades.
